The Maryland Tenth Cavalry Gun Club, one of the few black social firearms clubs in the country, is bringing kids from Baltimore to a gun range outside the city in the hopes that they can learn about guns and stay away from violence and gangs. The club teaches them about the history of African-Americans and firearms, including the story of the club’s namesake, the first peacetime all-black regiment formed after the Civil War. Club members say the kids also learn about gun safety and responsibility.
